I am a Certified Training Partner with Karen Pryor Dog Training Academy. This means I graduated from a six-month dog training course that is internationally recognized. I believe in training dogs to work with us rather than forcing them.

In 2015 I authored Idiots Guide Puppies. I have worked for several years in Search and Rescue with human remains detection dogs.

I was the Director of Canine Training at the Humane Society of Indianapolis for five years. I implemented behavior modification protocols and worked with other shelters to help save dogs deemed unadoptable.

I also share my home with dogs both large and small as well as cats.
